The SSC has officially released the Junior Engineer 2025 notification on June 30. This opportunity allows engineering graduates to enter central government service. Eligible applicants can apply online from June 30 2025 to July 21, 2025.

SSC JE 2025 Notification Out Overview 

The SSC JE (Junior Engineer) exam serves as a gateway for civil, electrical, mechanical, and quantity surveying candidates aiming for Group B (Non-Gazetted) government positions. The SSC released the official notification—Advertisement No. XXX/2025—on June 30, 2025. The notification notified 1,340 vacancies distributed across various departments like CPWD, BRO, CWC, MES, NTRO, and more. As per the schedule, candidates can register online from June 30 to July 21, 2025. Soon after, correction windows may open for minor edits in submitted forms. Tier 1 (screening) CBT is expected during October 27–31, 2025. After qualifying Tier 1 candidates will move on to Tier 2, and then for document verification.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC JE Recruitment 2025

Candidates must qualify both educational and age-based conditions.

  • Educational Qualification
      • Civil Engineers: Bachelor’s degree or 3-year diploma in Civil Engineering from recognized institutes. Candidates holding diplomas must show two years of field experience after completing their diploma.
      • Electrical/Mechanical Engineers: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering OR three-year diploma plus two years of relevant work experience.
      • Quantity Surveying & Contracts: Diploma holders (or degree holders if applicable) in the discipline meet requirements as per post-specific norms.
        • Note: Qualification certificates must be from boards or institutes recognized by the Council of Technical Education.
        • Experience must be documented through appointment letters or service certificates.
  • Age Limit
  • General: 18–30 years as of August 1, 2025.
  • OBC: Upper age limit 33 years.
  • SC/ST: Up to 35 years.
  • PwD: Age relaxed by 10 years from the upper limit.
  • Ex‑Servicemen: Age concession in accordance with central government norms.

Note: SSC expects candidates to thoroughly check caste certificates, disability certificates, and document expiry dates before submitting their applications. Errors in age or qualification documents can lead to disqualification even post-selection.

Apply Process for SSC JE Recruitment 2025

  • Visit SSC Portal → Go to official ssc.gov.in and click “Apply” under JE 2025.
  • Registration → Fresh users must enter name, mobile, and email. Registered users should use their previous login.
  • Complete Application Form → Provide personal, academic, and contact details, and upload photo/signature.
  • Select Posts/Department → Choose appropriate streams and departments. Only one stream and pay level can be applied for.
  • Pay Fee Online → General/OBC males pay ₹100; others are exempt. Use net banking, cards, or UPI.
  • Review Form → Check all information carefully before submission. Corrections may cost extra.
  • Submit and Download → On final submission, download receipt and confirmation for records.

Selection Process for SSC JE Recruitment 2025

This recruitment includes three main selection stages:

  • Tier 1 (Screening CBT):
      • Objective multiple-choice exam covering general aptitude and basic engineering concepts.
      • This stage filters candidates for further stages.
  • Tier 2 (Subject-specific CBT):
  • Discipline-specific assessment in Engineering subjects based on chosen stream.
  • Only the candidates who qualify in the Tier 1 paper are allowed to appear for the second one.
  • Document Verification & Final Merit:
  • SSC prepares a merit list based on combined scores of Tiers 1 & 2.
  • Qualified candidates are called for document verification where educational, age, caste, and experience credentials are checked.
  • After all steps are done, SSC prepares the final list of selected candidates.
