Selection Process for CISF Tradesmen 2025

  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET): The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is the first stage of selection, designed to assess the candidate’s endurance and physical fitness. Male candidates must complete a 1.6 km race in 6 minutes 30 seconds, while female candidates must complete an 800-meter race in 4 minutes. This test is only qualifying in nature.
  • Physical Standard Test (PST): In the Physical Standard Test (PST), candidates’ height, chest (for males), and weight are measured to ensure they meet the required physical standards. The minimum height for General, OBC, and SC male candidates is 170 cm, with a chest requirement of 80-85 cm. Relaxations are provided for candidates.
  • Trade Test: The Trade Test is conducted to evaluate a candidate’s skill in the applied trade. For example, cooks must demonstrate their cooking skills, barbers must show haircutting techniques, and carpenters must display woodworking abilities.
  • Written Examination: The written examination is conducted in an OMR-based offline mode, consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions with a total of 100 marks. The subjects include General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, Analytical Aptitude, Observation Ability, and Basic English/Hindi. Candidates must complete the test in 120 minutes (2 hours), and there is no negative marking.
  • Medical Examination: Candidates who pass the written exam undergo a detailed medical examination to ensure they meet the required medical standards. The CISF medical board checks vision, hearing, overall health, and any underlying medical conditions.
