Recently, Mandeep K. Bhandari was appointed CBSE Chairperson by the Centre, replacing Lokhande Prashant Sitaram.

• About: Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari was born on 14 December 1974, Punjab as his domicile. 
• Education: Bhandari pursued medicine. He qualified as MBBS, educated from Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, affiliated with Punjab University, Chandigarh.
  • He studied Surgery as a subject with the First Division, and also earned Gold Medalist in MBBS.
• Career: Bhandari entered the Indian Administrative Service through direct recruitment and was allotted the 2001 AGMUT cadre.
  • AGMUT covers Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories, making the cadre geographically distinctive within the IAS.

    • The DoPT order placed him in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India, with the post temporarily upgraded for the appointment.
